Village of Ardsley - Natural Resource Inventory Report (March, 2026)
The Natural Resources Inventory (NRI) presented here is designed to comprehensively document and analyze the environmental assets of the Village of Ardsley. This inventory is both a detailed ecological Village of Ardsley Natural Resources Inventory Report record and a practical planning resource. By clearly identifying, mapping, and evaluating the village’s natural resources—including geology, water resources, habitats, and land use - the NRI equips village leaders, planners, and residents with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions that balance growth with sustainability and conservation. Village of Ardsley Procurement and Maintenance of Refrigerant Containing Equipment Policy (May, 2026)
To lower the climate impacts of leaked refrigerants from New York State’s operations and to ensure compliance with NYS DEC Part 494 and EPA Section 608. This policy will apply to all stationary refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment containing ≥50 lbs of refrigerant.
Village of Ardsley Environmentally Green Purchasing and Procurement of Services Policy (May 2026)
Recognizing the responsibility of local governments to take effective measures to reduce or limit the environmental impacts of their operations and conserve resources, the Village of Ardsley adopts a Policy.
Village of Ardsley Fleet Efficiency Policy (May 2026)
The goal of all Village Departments shall be to eliminate unnecessary vehicles and to purchase, lease, and use the most cost-effective and lowest emission vehicle or equipment possible, while still meeting operational and safety requirements.
Heat Emergency Plan (May 2026)
The Village of Ardsley has developed a Heat Emergency Plan as part of its proactive approach to protecting public health. The plan provides structured guidance for responding to extreme heat and safeguarding the community
This plan will build upon the many existing initiatives in the Village of Ardsley to manage organic waste and will recommend a few new ones as well.
The New York State Climate Smart Communities Certification Report (September 2025)
The Village of Ardsley (Westchester) was certified on September 19, 2025 with 227 points earned from 34 completed actions. Read Certification Report
Six-Month Progress Report (January -June 2025)
The Village has taken proactive steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen community resilience, and promote environmental stewardship. These efforts have included adopting innovative zoning policies to support affordable housing, expanding public transit options, implementing traffic calming measures, and safeguarding natural resources through riparian buffer restoration and a Natural Resources Inventory. CEC Municipal Buildings Benchmarking Report 2020-2021
The Village of Ardsley recognizes that buildings are a significant source of energy use in the state of New York. To account for and improve municipal energy savings, the Village is collecting, reporting and sharing building energy data over time so that local officials and the public can understand the energy performance of municipal buildings relative to similar buildings nationwide. Village of Ardsley Comprehensive Plan (February 2021)
In 2017, the Village of Ardsley began a planning process to create the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. This all-inclusive planning process involved extensive community participation to develop and build broad community support for the plan. The Comprehensive Plan features a unified vision and supportive goals to guide Ardsley’s desired future growth and demonstrate Ardsley’s commitment to developing sustainably. Read Plan
