As of December 2023, over 160 communities across 10 states have adopted SolarAPP+, collectively approving more than 32,800 projects.
SolarAPP+ is a free online tool from the U.S. Department of Energy that helps local governments quickly approve permits for home rooftop solar systems. It speeds up the process by checking that designs meet safety codes, cutting delays and costs for homeowners and installers.
